Every five years, your employer creates a new strategic plan. The process takes about six months before the plan is final. The Board of Directors and the CEO encourage input from all employees in the agency. In doing so, every department contributes to the plan via a written proposal.Assume you are leading your department in developing a proposal to upper management of the important components that should be included in the next strategic plan as it relates to the department you oversee.Keep in mind, your department is not reviewing the full vision and mission of the agency. You are required to include a SWOT analysis of your department, proposed goals for your department, and how you propose to track the progress of your department once the strategic plan is final. As you develop your proposal, consider the future of your department and the agency.
