Integrative Case:

This assignment will integrate what you have learned from the entire course. To prepare, review weekly discussions, readings, lectures, and conduct independent research to connect course concepts with relevant topics of the paper. Focus your responses on effective business communication and ethics. Clearly demonstrate your knowledge by formulating your response for an audience that is not familiar with the topic.

While the suggested paper length is in the range of 4-6 pages, you are strongly encouraged to use personal judgment in determining the length of an effective, comprehensive response. Provide a document that is thoughtful and comprehensive, integrating course concepts to provide a well-supported and practical response to the stated questions.

For this assignment, you will take on the fictional role of a new CEO/leader for one of the following organizations. Select the situation that reflects the context in which you hope to lead during your career.

Option 1: You are the new CEO of an XYZ global financial services firm. A national investment crisis has negatively impacted this firm. To successfully lead the XYZ firm after the investment risk crisis, you must adopt effective communication and leadership strategies. Use this assignment to convey what these strategies are, and how they will be implemented.

Option 2: You are the new department manager for a utility company, replacing a longtime manager who failed to address internal theft and accounting indiscretions that have become public knowledge and cause for legal action against some ex -employees. To successfully lead this department after the crisis, you must adopt effective communication and leadership strategies. Use this assignment to convey what these strategies are, and how they will be implemented.

Option 3: You are the new Lead Consultant for a well -known consulting firm to replace a Lead Consultant who was taking money from competing consulting firms for over pricing proposal bids and gaining kickbacks. Junior Consultants knew something was amiss, but did not feel they could speak up. The publicity has tarnished the reputation of the firm and employees show lack of commitment to the firm. . To successfully lead this consulting team after the crisis, you must adopt effective communication and leadership strategies. Use this assignment to convey what these strategies are, and how they will be implemented.

Specifically address the following questions in your paper:

• As a new leader you must communicate with key stakeholders. Identify the key stakeholder groups and their probable concerns. Describe how you will approach the communication(s) in terms of content, tone, and channels. Include an assessment of how your DiSC style may impact the effectiveness of your approach(es).

• You are under pressure from those that hired you to demonstrate a plan to get the firm back into good standing with key stakeholders, including the public, investors, and others, as appropriate. The presentation audience might be the Board of Directors, owners, or key investors, depending on the situation selected. You decide to persuade the audience by delivering an eight-minute presentation. Outline the key points you plan to make and why. Explain in writing your top design and delivery strategies and tactics, highlighting their expected effects on the audience. Be creative!

• Finally, you have a deeply ingrained sense of integrity. You intend for the firm to operate with the same depth of values when facing ethical dilemmas. Describe three key areas you would focus on to influence the values of the firm, and explain the actions you would take to apply those values.

Grading for this assignment will be based on answer quality and focus, logic/organization of the paper, and communication skills, using the following rubric.
