This week, read through the Chapter on Setting Goals, focusing on why and how to set your goals. Read pp. 78-80 “Writing SMART Goals”.
Here’s the assignment:
1. Devise a list of 3 short-term and 3 long-term academic and/or professional career goals:
Include how you plan to achieve each goal
Include the motivators to achieve each goal
Include the support system to achieve each goal
2. After you have settled on your goals, how to achieve each one and your motivators organize your ideas to prepare a slide presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Include an introductory/cover page
Include a minimum of 10 slides and a maximum of 12 slides
You may use images, clip art, charts, graphs, etc., or keep it simple — once again, you won’t be “graded” on how it “looks” (although I do want you to give it your best shot based on your familiarity with PowerPoint going into the assignment). What’s most important is to make your presentation “your own” — in other words, I’m looking for you to prepare a presentation that is informative to you and to your audience. If you’ve never used Microsoft PowerPoint before, you might want to ask a friend or colleague for some help; also, there is a “HELP” feature built into the program that is informative.
